How to prepare?

Onions and beetroot
Ingredients
  • 1tbsp bengal gram
  • 2 tsp urad dal
  • 1 tsp ginger (grated)
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Jeera
  • Asafoetida a pinch
  • 1 tsp green chillies (finely chopped)
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tbsp ghee

Instructions
  • Churn all the ingredients except ghee in a grinder for idli batter.
  • Let batter ferment for at least six hours.
  • Pour water into the idli vessel and let the water boil.
  • Place the plate without the idli cloth.
  • Take small steel cups and pour 1tsp of ghee into it.
  • Pour the prepared idli batter.
  • Place the cups on the plate in the idli vessel.
  • Steam the idli for 20 minutes.
